Reconnecting with your purpose
Find yourself raging against the machine with that nagging feeling that you’re on your own working so hard just to get the basics done? That sense of always pushing uphill, that, even if it all looks ok on paper, somehow you and your colleagues aren’t quite connecting? Left alone, this sense of disconnection can fester, cause frustration and undermine teams and personal well-being.
So, how do you stop it? Often, this sense of frustration grows from our not understanding how we and others prefer to work. As a result, we can communicate less effectively with each other – and in the resulting confusion mistrust grows.
If we start to understand and work with (rather than despite!) individuals’ and teams’ operating preferences, we can make a big difference to our work environment and productivity. At the individual level, a better understanding of your own preferences can help not just your day to day work, but also how you develop your future career.
